Faith and art have become transitive in my life.
Through creative activity I am empowered to share the way of
Christ. Many times I have seen the benefit of creative activities to focus
positive energy toward healing and spiritual growth. After a particularly moving
art therapy effort in Joplin, MO, I seemed to sense that we are here because as
spiritual beings we are not yet unified spiritually and are supposed to prepare
for a time to come when our spirits will live with the ones we have
loved.
This image is titled
“Pathway”. It was produced by my
student Vanessa Davidson. Her drawing became the pattern to spray paint the
design.
Instruction for creating your
“Pathway”:
Any format, squares, rectangles and circles can be marked with
crossing lines to create a series of cross contour lines. The
horizontal lines “hills” are then marked in an opposing vertical direction to
create “pathways”. Offset the paths from hill to hill, so a perception of space
between the hills is seen.
Use any media to mark your design and see how your art, like a
faith journey, is unique and different.
