Free spirit -
is a name used to describe some people. But, what does this really mean? Are there persons who are really free spirits? How can I be one? Many are the ways I've tried and I know now, that broad is the way to destruction. In an attempt to be a free spirit, I have gone down in flames, until I was held up and my scorched wings were renewed and made strong by a great Holy Spirit. The encouragement of this Spirit made me free. I know now that I will only continue to be free when I pray like David to be returned to the joy of God's salvation. I believe a broken and contrite heart the Lord will not despise!
Now, in supplication I hear these words: reflect upon the meaning of family; consider your immediate and extended family and friends. When you feel the love of those who encourage you – give thanks. A true free spirit does not shun responsibility or fellowship, but knows the joy of God’s salvation because of service to others.
Reading Ecclesiastes 3 over and over, one can reflect upon the seasons of one’s life and consider the richness of the life you were born to discover. Because you seek in this way, you will find freedom. Pray a new mindset will unify the material and spiritual places you work, rest in and joyously share with others.
This is what the Seasons paintings represent - places that I am free -places within my imagination to rest and abide. Throughout all seasons, the cycle of family, immediate and extended flow from the Great Spirit that unites us with God!
Jesus spoke of leaving his friends, but promising to them he would send in His place a Holy Spirit that would never leave those He loved and this Holy Ghost or Spirit would be a great comfort to them. This is a comfort to me especially as I think of my parents, grandparents and uncles and aunts and dear friends who have passed on but still stay with me in Spirit.
Thank you friend, for helping me believe we are never done only adapting to our ever changing self until we are free in the Spirit He offers us! In a free state of Grace, I now understand the material and spiritual are not opposed or separate but unified by God who can dwell within us by Grace alone.
Reflect upon the seasons of your life. Appreciate water cycles, energy cycles, life cycles of animals, life cycles of plants, planetary cycles, rock cycles, and cycles of nature, chemical cycles, and disease cycles and love life, blessed by the seasons.
